A Memorial service for John Gordon Jones, 65, of Flint, TX. was held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, Tyler.   Dr. Marty Dunbar officiated.  John passed away Monday, October 8th, 2012 at The Hospice of East Texas.

John was born July 25, 1947, in Tyler to Herman and Inez Puckett Jones.  He was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler.

He graduated from John Tyler High School in 1965 and the University of Texas at Tyler.  He was retired from Southwestern Bell. He was a member of Blue Lodge 53, the Scottish and York Rite, and the Sharon Shrine Temple.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Puckett Jones.

He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 45 years, Martha Jones of Tyler; two sons, Michael Jones and wife Tammy of Crandall, and Alan Jones and wife Genifer of Tyler; grandchildren, Peyton, Ryan and Jordan Jones of Crandall, and Coby and Allison Jones of Tyler; sister, Mary Ann Lee, of Tyler and his father, Herman Jones, also of Tyler.
