Mr. Jerry L. Cooley, age 71, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Lindale, Texas. He was born on November 2, 1946 in Tyler, Texas to the late, Lon and Empress Louise (Dunn) Cooley. Jerry lived his entire life in the Tyler/Lindale area, served in the United States Army, and was a member of Masonic Lodge #1233 and the Sharon Shriners Temple both in Tyler. He retired as a Locomotive Engineer after 45 years of service with Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Union. Jerry was a talented welder and loved to surprise people with gifts that he had created. 
Jerry is survived by his wife, Ann (Gentry) Cooley of Lindale, Texas; Sons, Todd Cooley and his wife, Kathy of Lindale, Texas, Tony Cooley and his wife, Anne of Cypress, Texas, and Johnny Cooley of Lindale, Texas; brother-in-law, Steve Gentry and wife, Debbie of Van, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; niece, Pam Haley of Irving, Texas; nephews, Robert Olgesby of Alvin, Texas and Jerry Olgesby of Tyler, Texas and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Olgesby and Dollie Braley and a brother, Gary Glynne Cooley.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.
