DONNA “Dj” JOHNSON MOTT OBITUARY
Posted by her son, Jerry Mott

On November 18, 2017, Donna Johnson Mott, took the Master’s hand and stepped into Eternity. She died peacefully under the tender loving care of Christopher House (Hospice) in Austin, Texas.
Born in Tyler, Texas on February 8, 1947, she was blessed to grow up in a loving family. Known for her quick wit and warm friendliness, she never met a stranger and was loved by everyone. She deeply touched all of thos...e whose paths she crossed. Her home was always a place of comfort, love and peace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John T. Johnson and Lucy Lowry Johnson; her husband, Jerry W. Mott; and her brother, Joe Johnson.
Donna was a loving mother and is survived by her children, son- Jerry W. Mott Jr. and wife Regina of Austin, TX; daughter- Carrie Penlerick and husband Ryan of Spring Branch, TX; brother, John R. Johnson and wife Chris of Horseshoe Bay, TX; brother in law, Ronny Mott of McKinney TX; sister in law, Judy Mott Biggs and husband Wayne of Grand Prairie, TX and Shirley Johnson, sister in law of New Braunfels, TX. In addition, “Nana”, as she was known, was a doting grandmother to six loving grandchildren: Kaelyn, Lauren, Kendal, Laira, Tyler, and Taryn. She also has countless numbers of caring cousins, nieces, and nephews
.
Among one of Donna’s greatest gifts, was the love for her country. She cherished and honored all of those who served our country, both locally and abroad. Her love was so strong, that she formed a club called “G Girlfriends” that was comprised by a total of 10 women she had gone to high school with in Tyler. The G Girlfriends club reached out by letters, care packages, etc. to let those serving know how they were being thought of, honored and respected back home. Until the day she started getting ill, she was continuing to correspond with many soldiers. She dedicated tireless hours to provide to our troops and to exhibit her love for America. She was truly a “CITIZEN PATRIOT.” Donna also owned a successful alcohol training school business for the past 30 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Operation Homefront, Homes for our Troops, or Lone Survivor Foundation."
