A memorial celebration of life for Ronnie Maynard was held in February 2017 because every life matters.
Ronnie was born August 2, 1946 in Tyler, TX to Rose Ann & Robert B Maynard, he died January 30, 2017 at Mother Francis Hospital during his 3rd by-pass surgery.

A native of Tyler, he was, at time of death, residing & employed as a security officer at Holly Lake Ranch. A 1965 graduate of John Tyler HS he married his HS sweetheart, Susan Smith in December. Following in his dads footsteps, he became a Navy Seabee serving two 9 mo tours in Viet Nam. In 1968 during on his 2nd tour, his daughter Veronica was born. Upon completing his military duty in 1969, he returned home. The next 10 years, he was employed by Clanahan Construction Co & Kelly Springfield Tire Co. In 1971, his son Jason was born. In 1980, a career change was made as he took a position as a service hand for NL Atlas Bradford. With transfer in 1981 to Anchorage, AK for him and his family came a new position in sales & service. In 1984, with assistance of an outpatient treatment center, he became sober and never touched another drink. He & his family transferred to New Orleans in1985 residing in the Slidell area and in 1990 a transfer to Lafayette, LA. took place. After a divorce in 1994, he remarried and with his new wife, JoAnn, came a step-daughter and later 5 adopted children. His traveling adventures continued with residence in a number of cities & states.
  He was a person who never met a stranger and touched many lives with his heart of mercy.
  He is survived by his children, Veronica M Valeros & Jason M Maynard, his grandchildren, Daniel A Valeros, Caitlyn V David & Henry T Maynard, widow JoAnn & adopted children Joleann, Ron, Cynthia, Heaven & Jonathan, brother Robert B Maynard, Jr, sisters, Rosie Simmons & Sandy Maynard along with multiple nieces & nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Susie Hudson Hill and adopted son Conner.

Ronnie Maynard passed away January 30, 2017, due to complications from quadruple by-pass surgery at Tyler's Mother Francis Hospital that same day. Ronnie's daughter, Veronica provided this information to classmate Jerry Gaiser. Also Susan Smith Maynard Duhon, former wife of Ronnie and a JTHS65 classmate, contacted us telling us that the family honored Ronnie's wishes to be cremated and not to have funeral.. The family will be gathering to celebrate his life at a later date.
