Joseph Scott Spitzer, 66, passed away Wednesday ,October 9, 2013 after a lengthy illness. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Ft. Worth, TX.. Interment with full honors was held at DFW National Cemetery on October 15, 2013. Eternal Aggie, 1969.

Scott  graduated from John Tyler High School in 1965 and with a scholarship from the Tyler A&M Club of Tyler attended Texas A & M graduating from there in 1969. He went on to Oklahoma University Law School and became a JAG (lawyer), in the U.S. Air Force.  He retired from the Air Force after serving 20 yrs.  He then moved to Azle where he had his own Family Law Practice.  He retired from that some years ago.            

 Survivors include his wife Jackie of 39 years and children Gregory, Deborah and Jessica; four grandchildren, David age 5, Christian, 4; Scott, 17; and Colin,16; and his sister, Laura.

There is a Memorial in the form of a Scholarship with the Association of Former Students at A&M in Scott's name.  He loved A&M and had many life long friends from there.

Scott's  family wrote ;  A simple man who loved his family dearly,  loved his A&M family and held his friends dear.  Not a perfect man but a man who loved God and Country.  He is no longer suffering horrible pain, but resting in the arms of Jesus.  In that, we take great comfort.
