Rachel Annita Willman (Walker)

Services for Rachel "Nita" Walker, 66, of Tyler, was held on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Fred Smith officiating. Burial followed at Tyler Memorial Park in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Walker passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, under the care of The Hospice of East Texas.

She was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Tyler to John Rufus and Essie Odell Nokes Willman.

Nita was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, playing piano, traveling, challenging her mind with number and word puzzles and playing chickenfoot with her friends. Nita had numerous treasured friends who would agree that to know her was to love her.

In addition to her parents, Nita was preceded in death by her brother, Don Willman.

She is survived by her loving family including husband of 44 years, Ed Walker, of Tyler; son, Phillip Alan Walker and wife Marty; grandchildren, John Michael and Andrew David Walker; siblings, John Willman and wife Terry of Beaumont and Debbie Smith and husband Joe of Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews, with whom she shared special relationships.

Pallbearers were John Walker, Andrew Walker, Nicholas Smith, Michael Smith, Chris Willman and Mark Willman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.

Juanita Barnes (Wiggins)

I am so sad for the loss of "Nita".  She was always so sweet in high school. I pray for comfort for her family.  May God Bless you and know that she is so blessed to be with our Lord. Praise the Lord for her life and her witness!!
