Graveside services were held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Cemetery for Linda Battles Wimpee, 65, of Attalla, who passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Shannon Rogers, Rodney Rogers, Lorne Boyd; mother, Ernestine Battles; along with six grandchildren; daughters-in-law; siblings; family; and friends. Linda was a member of the Etowah Chapter No. 1620 United Daughters of the Confederacy. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.. Published in The Gadsden Times on July 5, 2012

I first met linda when we were 14 years old. she taught me how to saddle a horse . I used to ride my cushman motor scooter to her house. and pretend i was interested in horses, until her brothers ran me off.    those Greer boys were tough.  but we  still remained freinds for many years after high school.
