
A celebration of life was held for JTHS65 Classmate Robert Florence at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Hilliard Funeral Home, Van, Texas.
Robert Stanley Florence was born December 3, 1946 in Tyler, Texas to the late Johnny Mac & Mary Fanuel Collier Florence. He had been a resident of Tyler for many years, also living in Marshall for 40 years. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War; he was a radio operator for 4 years. He worked for Ford Motor Company in the parts department for 40 years, retiring in 2015. He loved to grill and cooking, shooting guns, race cars, and woodworking.
Mr. Florence passed away at the age of 77 on April 4, 2024.
Survivors include his children, Amy Madden and husband, Todd of Estero, Florida and Christina Burnham of Jefferson, Texas; four siblings, Johnna Gregory, Monty Florence, Susan Goetze, and Craig Florence; grandchildren, Jacob Stewart, Hannah Stewart, Kaitlyn Stewart, Courtney Stewart, Alexa Madden, Tristan Madden, and Olivia Madden; and three great-grandchildren, Silas, Penelope, and Eleanor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
